What should I do right after a spill?
Turn the device off, don't charge it, and bring it in as soon as possible. The faster we can clean the board, the better the chance of a full recovery.
Is rice actually useful?
No — rice does nothing for the corrosion already forming inside, and the delay usually makes things worse. Professional cleaning is what recovers devices.
Can you recover my data even if the phone is dead?
Often, yes. Liquid-damage cleaning and board-level repair frequently bring a device back far enough to recover photos and files.
